The portrayal of sex is closely intertwined with the history of film. Already in the discovery phase of the medium was frantically experimented with playing (mostly) female nude. Known are the cinematic studies of Eadweard Muybridge, which is not so much the nude, but especially the movement was central. Liberalism was nevertheless well. That there was a market for the erotic film, the following decades became quickly apparent. Early last century, for example messengers called nickelodeons, not to be confused with the television channel for children to movies. The small neighborhood cinemas were ideally suited for their shadowy character to pierce the then taboo.
Sex and the silver screen were inseparable. In the United States it was mainly to the suggestion. Nude did not get to see the beholder, but in concealing tone was a lot of talk. In Europe, the cinema was more spirited. Functional exposed in the Dutch film is a striking example. Sex in film became more physical in nature at that time. The genre of porn was born. But the ordinary fiction film explored the possibilities of the more explicit love-making. The functionality of the nude could be enlarged so agile. In films like 'Kids' (Clark, 1995), "Baise-moi" (Despentes, 2000) and "Nymphomaniac" (Von Trier, 2013) is the crossover between film and sex evident. The films are exemplary in their explicitness, the historical approach and the way young people perceive the act of love. For director Gaspar Noé will this kind of houses, given his previous films, even holy.
'Love' seems to fit seamlessly with the above three movie titles and Noé's previous work. The film tells about Murphy (Karl Glusman). The twenty-something is stuck in his relationship with the much younger Omi (Klara Kristin). Even the child they have together, can not save their relationship. The situation is aggravated when Murphy gets a voicemail from his former law. Ex-girlfriend Electra (Aomi Muyock) already is a time search, or Murphy has heard from her. The message brings him back to the past. Their love affair was to say the least quite stormy. Full of passion, promises, quarrel and deceit. The voyeuristic spectator is continuously on. The sex scenes are no exception there.
Yet this does not engaging drama. 'Love' starts off with a sex scene. By thus fall with the door in the house, not only will the emphasis be on the carnal aspect, but the story subiet become secondary. In short, the balance is from the start search. The difficulty of this type of film is that it is often no more than a naked gimmick that loses its functionality for the benefit of a low-priced effect. In 'Love' exposed scenes only serve as a model of normal human behavior. The added value is nil as a result. Even a pornographic effect is little evidence.
The characters help 'Love' can not continue. The lachrymose Murhpy has most of its problems itself to blame. Moreover, the voice-over which he ponders his sins so lifeless that his problems are never bypassed. The male perspective involves boring. The prejudice that men only think about sex is confirmed abundantly here. The masculine approach also has the effect of the strong female characters remain underexposed. Physically they give themselves bare, but mentally remains closed for all the zipper. 'Love' as a result of this half-hearted voyeurism cold rather than sensual. Infuse the film never does.you can download free movies online, Eventually breathes 'Love' in everything sex, but there is very little interesting things done with it. Visually, there are some nice finds. The film takes place mostly indoors. In his sexual musings, Murphy repeatedly positioned in a door frame. It is a symbolic opening that leads him back to his warmest memories. Thus, there is more symbolism that is focused on the sex drive. The frequent jump cuts, which have a pumping effect. Self-abuse of the director, by naming two bijpersonages to himself. The (although needless dark) 3D effect so do his two cents, with internal cameras and remote spurting ejaculations. Tunnels, waterfalls and plenty of dark spaces complement the decor. Anyway, you get the idea. But here, too, 'Love' gets the appearance of an empty shell, because the sexual innuendo in every scene so emphatically palpable. The idea that sex has a natural place in a relationship, we know meanwhile though. Moreover, in the 'Love' a bit more loving allowed to run.
