Disaster movies are as old as the road to Rome. In encyclopedias film is' The Last Days of Pompeii "in 1935 is generally considered the first real disaster. If an earthquake of unprecedented proportions affecting the west coast of America, work is again cut out for seismologe Samantha Hill (Kim Delaney, known for the series "NYPD Blue"). Along with geologist Jordan Fisher (David Cubitt, 'Ali') is trying it on behalf of the US President Paul Hollister keep (Beau Bridges, the older brother of 'The Big Lebowski' Jeff) the disaster under control. Samantha is emerging as a model of courage and resilience. But when a tsunami wipes Waikiki island of the card, she confirms her fear of the potentially disastrous consequences of the quake. Director and writer John Lafia has a slew of actors drummed up people who are confronted in their own way with the disasters. Dean Cain (Superman in the series Lois & Clark "), for example, is a volunteer who, along with his brother signed up to help with rescue operations.
