Icon Meryl Streep plays the role of the Suffragette leader Emmiline Pankhurst and stands prominently on the poster. Unjustified, because Streep plays such a small role that it might almost be called a cameo. In one scene she gives a speech why the Suffragettes have to keep fighting and she briefly touch with Mulligan. Streeps role adds little and had easy off could. Stronger roles are played by Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Marie Duff and Ben Wishaw. But Carey Mulligan is the star of the film. She crawls all the way into her role of the brave but fragile Maud who risks everything in her life for the Suffragettes. 'Suffragette' presents an important period in the history of feminism. The story is rather standard and lapses here and there in melodrama. Greatest asset is the strong Carey Mulligan which easily carries the film and her pain as the courageous Maud is able to bring about good. Yet you continue after the film left with a nagging feeling. This important period in British history deserved a better film.
When the young Quinn Brenner after attempting to contact her deceased mother discovered that foreign forces take her up, she appeals to Elise Rainier, a medium with a special talent. Elise must make contact with the dead and try the girl, who is the target of a dangerous supernatural being to rescue. By venturing into the depths of the afterlife to protect Quinn, Elise is facing the worst and most terrifying enemy that she has ever met: a demon who preys on the souls of the living.
While the first two parts of the "Insidious' series full use of proven horrorclichés, the films grew by the skilled work of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell good stuff right into haunting genre toppers. In this third part takes place writer Whannell himself on the director's chair. The creative force behind the film series is clearly influenced by his colleague Wan and keeps it the same style of directing after.
